From The Hills To The Sea – Being The Best We Can Be

Toora Primary School

Toora Primary School, established in 1888, is a small rural school located 187 kilometres south-east of Melbourne and set in the picturesque hills of South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. We overlook Corner Inlet and Wilson’s Promontory, while the rolling hills of the Strzelecki Ranges provide a beautiful backdrop and make our school a great place to be.

At Toora Primary School we offer Grades Prep to 6, with students split into five classes (Prep, Grade 1, Grade 2/3, Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6). Our 2024 enrolment is 90 students, with class sizes ranging between 15 and 20 students. Our smaller class sizes create an opportunity where every student is given the best opportunity to thrive as both an individual and a learner.

Our staffing profile consists of a Principal, a Learning Specialist, five Classroom Teachers, PE Teacher, Music Teacher, Inclusive Education Teacher, Business Manager, Wellbeing Officer, six Education Support staff and a visiting MARC Teacher. See out full team here

The school/parent partnership is strong and has positive benefits for all students and school community. We have an active Parents’ Club, who meet monthly at the school and play a integral role in creating a rich environment for our students.

Toora Primary School’s vision is that all students will engage in research informed best practice teaching and learning, which will enable all students to reach their full potential and experience success. Our mission is to provide a secure, motivating environment that meets the learning needs, aspirations and interests of all students, supporting them to take ownership of their learning, build healthy relationships and essential learning competencies.

Please contact the Principal – Luke Haustorfer on (03) 5686 2283 if you would like further information or a tour of our school.
