Toora Primary School

Toora Primary School, established in 1888, is a small rural school located 187 kilometer south-east of Melbourne and set in the picturesque hills of South Gippsland , Victoria , Australia . Wilson’s Promontory National Park is across the inlet and the rolling hills of the Strezlecki Range provide beautiful views and inspiration making our school a great place to be.  At Toora Primary School we offer Grades Prep to 6. There are currently a Principal (who has a teaching role), 2 full time class teachers, Specialist Art teacher (one day per week),Business Manager (.7), Chaplain (2 days per week) and MARC van, employed at the school. The school / parent partnership is strong and has positive benefits for all students and school community.

Why Toora Primary School?

A new Principal with a strong strategic vision for our school, who values learning, student wellbeing and community. Teachers who see themselves as lifelong learners and are always looking to implement the latest research-based teaching practices .Strong school values that underpin our calm learning environment and caring atmosphere where all students are free to be themselves. A well rounded curriculum incorporating Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Art, PE, Indonesian and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). An excellent Music program, incorporating Musical Futures (we are the only school in South Gippsland to offer this) and private instrumental music lessons with John Rees.

Regular extra-curricular activities including camps, excursions, incursions and theme days. Smaller class sizes enabling teachers to spend more 1:1 time explicitly teaching each student to target their individual needs. Amazing facilities including modern classrooms, specialist learning areas and an indoor stadium – all less than 10 years old. Excellent IT resources with a ratio of 1 computer per student and 1 iPad per two students.
